Scrappy Space 2.0

I've been busy planning and rearranging my scrappy space. MIL had a table that was too big for what she wanted in their sunroom and asked if I wanted to trade. So now I get a bigger table for my scrappy space and it's a win-win situation. I love my new space! Here are a few pictures:

the overall look of my space. The bookshelf is on the other wall now to accommodate the larger table.

the bookshelf is roughly the same. I moved some albums to another shelf so I could hold another cropper hopper (my paper was way too crammed) and some blue storage tins I got super cheap on clearance at SU! There are 3 and they hold my cuttlebug plates and folders, my heat embossing stuff and some embellishments.

Thumb tacks, string and clothes pins make my new display area

a couple of favourite layouts to inspire me, and a fun little banner made with ribbons and punches (I was inspired by Dawn on this). You can also see my newly organized desktop.
Look - there is actually room for my paper trimmer!

the drawer storage actually fits nicely under the new table making it like a nice big desk!

and finally I had this drawer organizer kicking around that I had bought for cheap to put brads in. I found a more efficient way to store my brads with a CTMH product so this was sitting in my laundry room. I am now using it to hold my alphabet stickers from sets that have too many letters used to spell anything. This way I can see what I have when I need random letters.

what we've been up to

We've been pretty busy lately. Lots of visits to mom on the weekends and working on making and buying all our Christmas gifts. Almost done! Moms surgery went well and she got to go home last week. She is gaining strength and healing. It's good to see her. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. She will still need prayers as she will have to go through chemo still. Cancer is such a long battle to fight.

Now for some pictures from the past couple of weeks:

dd being goofy and happy

slow cooker pulled chicken enchiladas. So yummy and easy!

my cuties all dressed up for church

dd was sick a few days ago (and is still suffering from a cold) and she was so exhausted she fell asleep in her kraft dinner. I love how her hand is in the bowl ready for her next bite!

some thank you cards I made for a friend with a new baby

And lastly my page for last week's book of me challenge - to use pics of you from the past and recently. I suppose the lab pic isn't all that recent, but it went well with what I wanted to do for this challenge.

baking, cards and weight loss update

I saw a recipe on Girl Gone Gourmet for Big Bite Peanut Butter Brownies and I just had to try them. Really easy to make, and they turned out fabulously. Delicious!

the extreme close-up - are you drooling yet?

I had to send the leftovers along with DH to work so I wouldn't be tempted. I don't want to ruin all of my hard work. 50 pounds down (like I've said before, I'm not sure of my exact starting weight so I'm using the number from before I was pregnant twice and adding 5 pounds. I'm sure it's safe to say I gained 5 lbs from 2 pregnancies! Prolly much more in actuality), 30 more to go to my goal (which may change, since I'm not sure what a fit 155 lbs looks like. That might be too skinny)!

I've also been working on my Christmas cards since September and am finally almost done. I'm just waiting on a few more addresses and then I'll stamp and mail them come December. I think I was overly ambitious. 95 home made cards, and then 50 printed ones for the mailboxes at church and anything else we might need them for. Ack! That's a LOT of nap times worth of work :)

December Daily Project

I've mostly completed my base pages for my December Daily Journal. I used the MSS kit plus some stuff from my own stash and followed the instructions here for the most part. Now I'm excited for December so I can document the months preparations and festivities! :)

The put together journal of base pages

The cover: bingo card with ribbon stitched down the side

extra supplies to use when completing the project

inside cover and into page. I just need to print a picture of an ornament for the intro and those pages will be completed.

I haven't actually pasted the numbers on yet. I might want to switch up the order. Some of the backs of pages aren't complete either. I will finish them as I go, that way I have more options open to me.

cut down and stitched back together page protector

vintage book page. I love how this came with the kit!

I screwed up punching the hole on a couple of pages. I'll just cover them up when I'm completing the pages. These papers are my own on this pocket.

freehand cut stars stitched on. Paper is my own.

chipboard frame with clear plastic glued in middle

no wonder I was a page short. I forgot to put a number on. I guess now I have an extra page for if I want to use extra pics and journaling one day.

envelope stitched from a piece of vellum I had

my own paper for pages 21 and 22

this was my own idea. DD's bday is the 23rd so I wanted extra space. The looseleaf I will type a lot of journalling on. This page was made from a trimmed and stitched up page protector. So far I have stitched the date circle and a title block of patterned paper in it. I will insert other pictures and embellishments and stitch closed later.
